Clinging to the Edge

Clinging to the Edge

One of the rewards of braving the Zion Canyon Overlook Trail and it's narrow (in places) path is this tree clinging near the edge of a 1,000 foot drop straight down.

I knew from the map that there was a trail on the other side of the tunnel. On exiting the tunnel there was a small parking lot on the right; full. So I find a place to turn around to go thru again. As I get to the entrance of the tunnel I am stopped and asked if I would tell the person at the other end that I am the last vehicle. Exit #2, tell the lady, drive on and turn around again. She stops me and tells me I get to do it twice. The car in front of me was a slow poke so I was able to stop at the windows and grab a shot then catch up to slow poke and shoot the next window. Stopping in the tunnel is verboten but there is slow poke helping me out. I exit the tunnel the third time, tell the guy I am the last vehicle, and there is one parking space in the small lot!
