Bunkhouse Entrance
Bunkhouse, Independence mine at Hatcher Pass, Alaska completely enveloped in fog. Independence was once the second largest mining operation in Alaska. The bunkhouse was built in 1938 and was the first building of its kind at a mining camp and had running water, electricity and heat. It provided living quarters for 30 workers. There were 16 buildings in the complex connected by covered wooden 'tunnels',. Most of the buildings are collapsed and beyond repair, but it is still worth the trip.
